Students excited to use this refreshed and inviting library space.
On the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Nambour Christian College recently made the decision to refresh their library space to suit the needs of their students.
When revamping an area in their library, the schools' requirement was to create a space that allowed teachers to teach grade four, five and six students in a safe space for their wellbeing program. To allow students to feel comfortable in the space, Business Development Manager, Tina Leko, had an initial consultation with Mia Robertson, Student Wellbeing Teacher and Library Coordinator, to get an idea of what the school was aiming to achieve.
Once the project's requirements were clear, Tina collaborated closely with the school each step of the way to ensure they had the support and guidance they needed. Tina was able to design the space using the Floorplanner app and suggest furniture products based on the requirements. She was also able to give the school colour palette options so they could choose what would best fit their space.
When speaking with Mia after the installation, Tina found that the fit out helped increase the usage of the space. More students were choosing to spend their break time in the library so they could use the new furniture.
She also found that the students and staff both felt the space was more inviting by creating a great formal wellbeing environment but keeping the settings casual for the library use.
