Recycled Plastics FAQs

Our recycled plastic may feature natural variations in colour, surface texture, gloss and minor flow or weld lines. These characteristics are a normal part of the recycling and moulding process and do not affect the strength, durability or performance of the product. Each piece is uniquely shaped by its material journey, giving every item its own one-of-a-kind finish.

Yes. Many items in our range are available in recycled plastic options, or contain recycled elements. Due to the nature of recycled plastic, slight surface variations may occur - these do not affect strength or performance.
Because recycled plastic carries its own history, and unique process to turn the 'old' into something new - small variations in colour, surface texture and gloss are completely normal.

Recycled materials can include a blend of plastic sources, each with slightly different characteristics. When moulded, these can create subtle visual differences. This is part of the sustainable nature of recycled plastic and is expected across the industry.

These subtle differences don’t impact quality or performance - they simply make every piece uniquely yours.

Recycled plastic may present:

  • Slight colour variation

  • Differences in surface texture

  • Areas of glossier or duller finish

  • Flow/weld lines

  • Minor sink marks where material thickness changes

These are normal characteristics of the material and manufacturing process.

Minor flow lines, weld lines, smudges or faint surface variations occur naturally during the moulding process.
They generally occur when molten material flows unevenly and / or some areas of the moulding cool faster than others.

Don't worry though - these are not faults or cracks and do not weaken the product in any way!
  • Flow and weld lines or marks, are common in injecton moulding. They may appear as wavy line, streaks, or seams, on the surface of the moulding.
  • Sink marks are one of the most common injection moulding imperfections that usually occur as depressions in the thicker sections of the plastic part. Generally, these depressions are very small and do not affect the function, performance & durability of the plastic part/ product.

No. All Sebel products - whether made from virgin or recycled plastic - are engineered and tested to the same strength, durability and safety standards. Visual variations do not compromise performance.
Surface variations described above are normal characteristics of recycled plastic and are not considered defects. However, if you believe there is structural damage or a performance issue, please contact our team and we’ll be happy to assess it.
