Revitalising classrooms to enhance student support and provide flexible furniture.
Guardian Angels’ Catholic Primary School, located in Ashmore on the Gold Coast, recently undertook a project to revitalise their Year Three classrooms. The renovation was completed in April 2023, aiming to enhance student support and provide flexible furniture.
When planning these spaces, Principal Danielle Carter communicated with Sebel to address the requirement of offering students and teachers a variety of layout options suitable for different group sizes and age groups. Collaborating with a Sebel representative, they worked together to shape their vision for the space and gather ideas.
“The staff at Sebel helped create agile, personalised, engaging and flexible learning spaces that supported and aligned to our vision. The spaces Sebel helped us create engage and inspire a love of learning for our students.” Danielle said. “The spaces offer a range of furniture from seated desks to standing tables, whiteboard surfaces and shared tables and these support teachers in working with the whole class, in small groups or one on one in an engaging and welcoming space.”
After understanding the project’s objectives, Sebel’s design app was used to design the spaces, carefully selecting furniture that would cater to the school’s requirements. The choices included Twist’n’Lock Tables, which provide various heights and shapes, along with Postura Max® Chairs. For the high tables, Postura® Plus Stools were chosen. Additionally, soft furnishings were incorporated to create a comfortable breakout area.
Danielle says, “Their team are truly amazing in their knowledge of educational space design to optimise effective learning principles, the staff are approachable, are always happy to help and have great follow up service. The high quality of the products is valued, knowing that the investment into learning spaces is of an exceptional standard.”
Based on the feedback from Danielle, Sebel provided multiple furniture concepts and colour suggestions for the Year Three spaces. This was able to give Danielle and staff an idea of different ways they could layout their classroom furniture.
“Our staff and students are excited to enter and learn in these vibrant spaces- thanks Sebel for your support and guidance.” Danielle Carter | Principal, Guardian Angels’ Catholic Primary School
